The Economics and Business Faculty (FEB) Student Senate is holding the 2012 Goat Cup, which will go from Monday (2/20) until Friday (2/24) at the Satya Wacana Christian University (SWCU) basketball court. The theme of the Goat Cup this time is “From Us For Us By Us”. The event will be joined by 2007 until 2011 class year students as participants in five sporting events: volleyball, basketball, badminton, futsal, and soccer.
The Goat Cup is a sporting competition that is held annually by the FEB Student Senate, where the winners get a reward in the form of a goat.
“The Goat Cup is also held at the Lab High School auditorium for badminton and at the Arena for futsal,” explained Adi Tunggul Nogroho, a 2010 FEB student and the Head of the 2010 Goat Cup Committee.
The activities on the first day started at 8:00 AM with an opening ceremony. The Goat Cup was officially opened with a striking of the gong by the Coordinator of FEB Student Affairs Eranus Yoga Kundani, SE, and continued with a basketball game between 2010 FEB students and 2011 FEB students. There was also a volleyball match between 2010 FEB students and 2011 FEB students.
Ribka, a 2008 FEB student and participant in the volleyball competition, revealed that she joined this competition today to show her love for her class year. “I took part in this to support my class year, because there aren’t as many students from my class year as there used to be,” she said.
Corry Ryan, a 2010 class year FEB student who was watching his friends play said, “This event is good for student solidarity, so we can know each other better.”
This afternoon there will be men’s and women’s badminton matches as well as couples’ matches at the Lab High School auditorium, which will be continued with finals starting at 4:30 PM. The Goat Cup will be finished on Friday at 4:30 PM at the SWCU soccer field.
“For the closing ceremony, there will be dancers from Lab High School,” said Adit. An announcement of the winners will be conducted during the closing event, as well as handing out gifts. “The 1st place winners will get a goat,” he stated. (at/vi/upk_bphl/foto:viona).
