The 2017 work year was opened by holding a Satya Wacana Christian University (SWCU) Early Year Service and Friendly Gathering, on Tuesday (3 January) at the SWCU University Hall. This annual routine agenda was joined by SWCU leadership, lecturers, non-lecturer employees, Laboratory School teachers, and Laboratory School non-teacher employees at the SWCU campus.
The early year service was led by Pdt. Dr. Retnowati, M.Si, who is also the Theology Faculty Dean. Taking a verse from Psalms 118:18-29, Pdt. Dr. Retnowati, M.Si, encouraged the academic community to always be grateful and surrender themselves to be led by God during the 2017 calendar year. After the early year service, the event was continued with a friendly gathering that was led directly by SWCU Rector Prof. Dr. (H.C) Pdt. John A. Titaley, Th.D.
“We are grateful for the 2016 year that has already passed well as a Christian tertiary education institution. We are also grateful because in 2016 our research work performance increased to become an independent cluster,” explained the SWCU Rector.
In the friendly gathering, Prof. Dr. (H.C) Pdt. John A. Titaley, Th.D conveyed several important agendas for SWCU in 2017. These agendas included the higher education institution accreditation and choosing the SWCU Rector.
The early year service and friendly gathering ended with eating lunch together. The academic activities at SWCU officially begin on Wednesday (4 January). (at/upk_bphl/foto:upk).
