LPMAI Holds Internal Auditor Training

There were 36 lecturers and staff members who joined a certified internal auditor training program that was held by the Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) Quality Assurance and Internal Audit Institution (LPMAI), on Monday and Tuesday (17-18 December). The speaker of this activity was Dr. Ir. Hisar Sirait, MA, from the Quality Assurance Directorate Internal Quality Assurance System Development Team (SPMI) of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education.

For two days, the participants were equipped with basic theories, as well as internal quality audit planning, implementation, and reporting. Besides theories, the participants also practiced the material they were provided.

When met in-between the training, the LPMAI Director, Komala Inggarwati, S.E., M.M., stated that the participants of this activity were representatives from the faculties and units of UKSW, as well as one external participant from Sultan Agung Islam University Semarang.

She revealed that in carrying out the internal quality assurance system (SPMI), one of the stages undertaken is an implementation evaluation. Internal auditors play a big role in this evaluation process.

“In order that an evaluation can run smoothly, we need trained internal auditors. That is why we held this training. It is hoped that by having more internal auditors, it will make the SPMI implementation process run smoother. Pre- and post- tests were held in this training, so that we could determine which participants passed,” she stated.

Komala Inggarwati explained that in an SPMI evaluation, an auditor’s role is not to look for mistakes but to find out what can be improved and then to provide recommendations to the university leadership to improve the academic quality. (at/upk_bpha/photo:gde).
